Virgin Active, the leading global fitness club, is just one of many industry leaders that ISA partners with to ensure our students get early industry immersion. Our personal training students have their practical classes at Virgin Active facilities and many are recruited as personal trainers at Virgin Active after they are certified. This time round, our diploma students got a chance to understand how the world-class gym is run and marketed on their visit to the Virgin Active Tanjong Pagar branch. USSA diploma students Dorothy Chew, Nur Ellyana and Wang Bo spill the beans: Virgin Active Gym was an eye opener to the standards of what a world-class gym should be like. Upon entering the lobby area, we were greeted by a neat, posh, classy premise. The manager, Niki took us for a tour round the TOP class facilities.
We were awed by the abundance of space. The grid was spacious and very adequate for large group training. The floor plan was well-thought-out - e.g., the yoga and meditation area (mind & body studio) was tucked away in a quiet corner, the grid for functional movement training, the free weights section segregated to avoid intimidating ladies and new comers.
We were especially intrigued by the Himalayan salt room, and the sleeping pods. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try it.
The access to the Hotel Sofitel pool was an added draw for potential clients.
The technology that goes into the creation of the rooms and atmosphere was a jaw-dropper and unique to Virgin Active. It shows that other commercial gyms pale in comparison. The trainers were motivating and very knowledgeable and engaging.
Overall, the gym gave very positive and good vibes and we all felt the desire to exercise and join the gym.
