We spoke to David, one of our students from the previous Basic Sports Massage course to find out his thoughts about the programme. David is a senior fitness executive and personal trainer for a hotel gym and took up the course to affect change and add value for his clients.
Here’s what he had to say:
What did you enjoy most about the course?
“The course was very hands-on and practical. This gives me a better insight of applying what has been taught to real-world practices. “
How has the course benefited you?
“The course not only helped me understand massage techniques, but anatomy and kinesiology from a different angle. As a personal trainer, I am able to decipher more than training and exercise, but knowing that with the combination of Sports Massage, assist my clients to recovering from muscle tension or muscle soreness efficiently and effectively.
The course gave me an avenue of opportunities, one of which was an honour to help out at the recent swim meet, assisting and aiding swim athletes with Sports Massage. It was a very good experience.”
Would you recommend the course to others?
“I would definitely recommend this course to others. Just kindly note that it can be physically-demanding and can take a toll on your thumb or body if posture is not intact. Therefore, main emphasis are to always ready your technique, posture and perseverance and you won't go wrong.”
