ISA’s students from the Australian Sports Academy Diploma in Sports Development programme and United States Sports Academy International Sports Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science programme had the opportunity to visit The Arena. This is part of ISA’s effort to incorporate practical lessons and site visits to help students better understand and get acquainted with the sports and fitness industry in order to better prepare them for graduation.

The Arena is Singapore’s first football thematic lifestyle destination. It offers a wide variety for sports and fitness offerings including football, muay thai, fitness facilities. Located within the premises is Café Football, a football themed café with plenty of football memorabilia and even a football themed menu.

ISA’s students had an opportunity to see The Arena’s facilities with the objective of understanding the industry’s best practices in facilities and event management from The Arena management and staff. The students had a wonderful experience while learning about aspects of operations, sponsorship and event management, gaining valuable insights and knowledge in relation to sports facilities.

Our students who went for the visit felt that it was beneficial as it was a new experience for them. It also sparked interest in some of them who say that they may want to work there in the future. The kind General Manager, Mr Razali took great effort in showing us around and shared his wealth of experience, opening the eyes and minds to the inner workings of facilities management.
